Baby Pritchett update :)

Well it was a big day full of appointments around here! I saw my reg ob, went for an ultrasound, and also went for an appt at the high risk specialist. Whew! Some random tidbits:

1. We did have an ultrasound (my high risk dr does the anatomy scan at 16 weeks), but we couldn't see the gender cause baby had his/her legs tucked up under the tushie. I'm only slightly disappointed as everything looked great, and baby is right on schedule. We will do another scan in 3 weeks to try again. :)

2. I found out that the due date my dr has on my chart is actually sooner than what I thought! I was going by what the tech told me in my first ultrasound, but since that was only a few days off from my last period, they go by the original date. That makes my due date 2/14. :)

3. On that same note, because of my blood-clotting disorder and the shots that I have to take, the doctor said that they will likely want to induce me before 40 weeks providing that everything is advancing normally. So, I can plan on having the baby around 39 weeks (with this disorder, the risk of stillbirth and other problems arise the further past 40 weeks you go... they'll be monitoring me very closely in the 3rd trimester, so we'll know when it's time).

So, all in all, it was a pretty exciting day. I'm worn out though!

Mine was the same!!

Congrats Libby. Sounds like they are taking good care of you!

hollyxann 09-01-2011 05:15 PM

That's awesome news! Glad everything is going well..bummer you have to wait to find out the gender.

And Kennedy's birthday is 2/14. Her original due date was 2/17.

Lauramarie 09-01-2011 05:24 PM

You totally should do a gender cake party! At your next us, if they can identify the gender, tell them to put into an envelope, seal it and than you take it to a bakery and have them make cupcakes or cake or whatever with the blue or pink inside. So the day of your party, you and your guests bite and see what your having!!

Lizzy257 09-01-2011 05:43 PM

That's great news. Can't believe you're 16 weeks already! My boy wasn't shy about showing his boy bits either, it must be a general boy thing :D

Jengerbread88 09-01-2011 05:46 PM

I'm keeping you in my prayers and so glad it's going well!

Susan Bartolini 09-01-2011 06:06 PM

lauren grier 09-01-2011 06:36 PM

I was positive this thread was going to state they discovered you were having twins.
fwiw ce never showed his bits either- and being a fellow high risk pg'er- i had 46363258902426326395082357328957238573289523523603 46430643 ultrasounds. not one peek. :p so dont be too bummed out if you cant see next time too.

MissKim 09-01-2011 06:37 PM

How fun! My youngest wouldn't show her stuff either so I had to make an appt with BabyWaves to find out the gender. How fun that you already know when you'll be seeing her again!

misfitinmn 09-02-2011 07:29 AM

Glad to hear things are going well, Libby!!

And I'm another who is guessing it's a sweet little lady - both of my boys were not shy at all. We didn't find out gender on my first one, but the u/s tech said if we wanted to know, baby was not being shy at all (should have known right away that it was a boy!)...and with #2 the u/s tech knew the second that wand hit my tummy...these boys are proud of their goods! :D

~Julie~ 09-02-2011 09:57 AM

Glad everything is going well Libby. My daughters were very shy at their ultrasounds. I can't wait to find out what you are having!!! :)
