We are moving up in the world!
Tomorrow the county road crew is laying the first layer of tar primer on our dirt road! By this time next week we should be driving on brand spanking new black top y'all! For those of you unfamiliar with the red clay hills of Mississippi..just know that it is red and it is clay and it is dusty when it's dry and a soupy mess when it's wet. And it's usually coated on my van in one form or another 365 days a year. But those days are about to be over b/c we're getting us a shiny new road!!! :p

:thumbup: My mom still talks about when they paved the road by the farm where she grew up. It wasn't red clay, but they were just as pleased to not have all that dirt/mud to deal with any longer!!

we had the red clay here too Nikki. It would wash out sometime so bad that you could not get through and the county would have to come out and grate it for us. Glad you are getting your road paved. It was a good day when they did ours. Ours is some sort of mixture of gravel and tar though. Not really concrete like you would see on a main road.

not to mention..red clay is impossible to get out of clothes!!
yay for a new road! |
