My hubby might be promoted!!
I just can't keep it in any longer! It's SOOOO not official (and there's always the chance that he won't get it) - so I don't want to say anything on my facebook, or get my parent's hopes up or anything...
But my hubby spent over two hours having a conference call with his current boss and the VP of the entire company that he works for (the VP!!). It ended up being an interview for a HUGE promotion (he's a wind turbine technician. He works on those big white wind mill things. Here's a layout I made that shows them: [LINK]). If he got this - he would manage his own farm (that's what they call the sites). That's HUGE! And it's even more huge since he JUST graduated from the school back in April! He didn't even apply for it - his boss put his name it!! This is SO huge (I can't stop saying that, lol)! I'm SO excited for him!! And what's also ... well, huge (lol) -- even if he doesn't get this, it's already gotten his name out there to the higher-ups. SO I imagine that it's possible for this to come up again in the near future, not years down the road like I envisioned (if ever) :D K - I just had to get that out! I've been bottling it up, wanting desperately to tell someone for two days now! :D |
Congratulations to him! That's so awesome! Fingers crossed!
|
Good luck!

Thanks ladies!! I felt so relieved to just say it to someone - even if it is in digiland and not face to face. It kept me from grabbing some random stranger to tell them my news, lol :D

that is awesome...keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!!!

How exciting, I hope it works out for him. My DH is also in the wind turbine biz, he gets to travel to places like Iowa and S. Dakota where they make the blades.
It's a growing business and I know they have a real need for trained techs so your hubby was smart to pick that field :) Let us know what happens. |
Yeah - we got lucky cuz one of the trade schools was in our home town. We'd see the commercials for it ALLL the time. There were people from all over the US coming all the way to our little town to go to this school, lol.
The fact that the industry is growing so fast is one of the reasons why I felt like it would work well for us - and so far, it's been the best thing ever for our family :) I may not like living in New Mexico (I hate it, lol) but having an income beats living in the desert any day :) |
