Feeling uninspired...

For some odd reason I volunteered to make a scrapbook for our volunteer group's director that spans over the past year of her administration (ending this weekend). So everyone has been sending me pics and I have been putting it off.

Now after I get pics this weekend, I have to finish it up next week.

Why do I do this? I really only enjoy scrapping for me.

Good thing is she did her own the previous year and just dropped photos into a Snapfish album so anything I do digitally will be a step above that, but still...I'm just not feeling it :(

It is harder to document memories when you weren't necessarily around for the experiences. It is so nice of you to do this for the director though! I'd probably just start adding the photos to blank pages (or choose templates for the photos :)) and then just organize the general layout of the book. Hopefully by then inspiration hits and you can add paper and elements to the pages. Are you going to use all one kit, or mix it up?
Good luck! I bet it will turn out fantastic!!

Ugh - hopefully when you see all the photos and actually sit down and do it - everything will fall into place and you feel inspired... one can hope, right? I'm the same way... I had a year to work on my uncle's church history book - and waited until a month out... haha... *sigh* would I do that again, push it off? probably... ;)

I have two events scrapped so far and they are pretty basic. I guess I'm going to continue with that. The events lead to themey kits so that's at least a fun part of it...choosing kits to use.

yea I kinda know how you feel. I volunteered to do my daughter's wedding album. While I want to do it I have to be inspired to do it and the photographer who did the pictures just was not that good so I have little to no good photos of her husband. It makes it hard.

I would probably start with a album template of some sort and then start filling in. Then the entire book could have some coherencey without you having to create a materpiece on each page!

Yeah, what Kristi said. I was thinking the same thing. Good luck!

I'm sure it will turn out great and you are extremely kind to be doing it. I bet she will treasure it. :)

I had to do something similar for an end-of-year book for my DS's teacher last year. I'm a slow scrapper and didn't have the time or interest to spend 4-6 weeks on it. I used a combination of quick pages (purchased as a complete album and modified as needed to add themed elements and more photos) and stacked backgrounds that I could build on quickly. No one but me knew or cared that I didn't start every layout from scratch.
