Kinda freaking out a little... Need some advice about Photoshop

OK, so I got a new laptop yesterday.. Should be a good thing right? Well, I noticed today when I was working on my boxing layout, that my shadows look like crap. On my old computer (which I no longer have) they didn't look like that. I thought maybe it was a setting on the new computer, so I re-installed Photoshop on my husband's laptop (which I used to use for scrapping all the time), and it is doing the same thing there.. Soooo that leads me to believe it is some sort of setting in Photoshop. What that would be I have no idea.. I am using some shadow styles so I know I am using all the same settings I always use.. If anyone has any idea what might be going on I would really appreciate it!

is it possible you have global light checked in the program for your shadows? It could be changing the angle you usually use

Thank you! Yes I did.. and I changed that. My problem is more with the quality of the shadows just seems really grainy and dark. I will just have to keep playing with it.
