Mission Impossible: weekend photos

What are the chances my son and husband will actually take lots of photos for me while they are away on their first dad/kid only hunting trip?

I provided camera, extra batteries and instructions to both to take LOTS of them.

I guess we'll see. Wish me luck!

So do your kids take photos for you on trips away from you?

Good luck! I don't think you'll get lots, but hopefully you'll get a few. Most of the outings my husband does with the kids without me are small things he wouldn't consider photo-worthy, like taking them out to breakfast. Once a year he and my oldest go to a Nationals Game, and DH *asks* for the camera and takes a few photos. (It's the only time all year he takes photos on his own initiative.) My kids don't yet, but maybe they will when they're older and have phones with cameras.

Mine will if he thinks it is something cool, but he won't take the camera. He'll just do it on his cellphone which isn't great. But I still have it!

my dh will happily do cell phone pics - but that's it :) i'll take what i can get!

Mine will and has. He used to take his own little P&S camera, but now it's primarily cell phones pics and those will work just fine. :)

If J did... it would be of his feet or extreme closeups of Rupert's ear... :D

Hubby is a tad better... I told him before going to Vegas with the SSD girls that he was suppose to take lots of photos to capture "boys weekend"... I got 3 photos and I think they were only to prove that he remembered to take J to his swimming lessons and get a hair cut... :glare:

Mine will do phone pics and only like 3 or 4 if I'm lucky... sighhh they don't get it :p

Mine does OK. The boys do better than him, but he does OK. This is probably because the first time he took Zach to a Cub Scouts thing, and came back with only ONE blurry bad picture I yelled at him.

It's hit or miss with mine. My DD will take them but a lot of times they're not exactly what I want pictures of KWIM? LOL

My kids love to take pics, so I would probably have a ton if I sent a camera with them somewhere :) Now, dh went white water rafting last year, and I know you can't exactly be snapping away the whole time, I did ask him to take my waterproof camera, and try to snap just one pic of the river. .....he 'forgot' the camera at home lol. So when he went on his trip to Mt. Ranier, which I was so jealous of, I asked him to take it and maybe get one amazing pic just so I could see it. He must have been trying to make up for the rafting trip bc he brought me back a ton of amazing pics!!!! He even had a friend take some of him!! And he snapped some pics of the bear they saw :) So he did good! :D

Apparently I'm lucky. DH took DS1 to the races in the spring, they both had a camera and I got lots of pictures. (Granted DS' were mostly blurry...he was 5...)

Oh, no! I hope he's the type of person who saw the humor in that. My DH won't take my big camera. If it can't fit into his pants pocket, he's not interested. I give him my old P&S on the rare occasion that he takes a camera, but it's on its last legs and is probably going to die soon. Not sure yet how I'll get him to take photos after that, but I'll come up with something! (His phone is through work and they've disabled the camera for security reasons.)

haha he was over it by the time he got home :) i just felt bad because they had to backpack in and out so it added unnecessary weight. i remember charging it though.

I've got the kids trained now. They send photos all the time. My daughter sends 5 or 6 a week. My son worked in New Mexico all summer and sent me tons of photos that I was able to scrap all summer long.

I've been divorced for 10 years. The last scout trip he and my son went on, he brought back all the tickets, brochures, papers etc for me AND gave me all his photos too. I even have HIM trained!

When my husband does something, I don't give him an option, I just ask him if he wants to take the DSLR or the Minolta. He likes the DSLR but will take the Minolta on occasion (it is a little smaller, but much lighter) if they are going to be doing a lot of hiking or something. He usually takes quite a few pictures for me. They aren't exactly the ones I would have taken, but I love that he will take them! :)

When I was doing AWITL he even took pictures at his job for me. :)
