Crop-A-Dile

Those of you who don't have one, but want a good tool for punching holes (through chipboard or up to several sheets of paper) and setting eyelets...you NEED to get a Crop-A-Dile. And I just read that Costco is carrying them for only $25 including over 640 eyelets...that's a steal of a deal, since if you bought it all separately it would cost over $85!

I love mine...don't know how we did without them for so long, lol!

BrattyMeg 04-05-2008 07:12 PM

I'll have to check it out at cosco..I almost bought one at archivers in the case with all the different eyelets and stuff and it was 34.99 and in pink, purple, or lime green!!

ColleenSwerb 04-05-2008 07:13 PM

It's pretty much the greatest thing ever. :)

digi-gee 04-05-2008 07:15 PM

I have one and love it. that is a great deal!

ditzyscrap 04-05-2008 07:15 PM

I bought mine the first year it was out (when the only color they had was pink, lol), and I paid $27 plus shipping, JUST for the tool...no eyelets (which were I think $4.99 for a package of like 24 or something).

kscwgirl 04-05-2008 07:17 PM

I heart my crop o dile. I have the pink one.

Me too, lol. I just new it had to better than pounding away on an eyelet only to have it come out looking messed up. It was totally worth it. Plus, I already have a zillion eyelets, I don't need them with the tool too, lol.

Julie Billingsley 04-05-2008 07:24 PM

oooh... I'll check for it at Costco. However if you get it at Michael's with the 40% off coupon that they occassionally run, it's only like $15.

Susan Bartolini 04-05-2008 07:44 PM

I have the pink. I heart it!

Susan

Penny Springmann 04-05-2008 07:54 PM

Bree, this is too funny. I was just going to come here and say that Costco has a great deal on the Crop-A-Dile. I just got one today! I can't wait to play with it! Susan has inspired me with all of her gorgeous albums!

mrs_jb 04-05-2008 08:05 PM

I just got mine a few weeks ago and it's so awesome! I'm always looking for reason to use it now, LOL!

meems 04-05-2008 08:15 PM

i was at Costco today and did not see these . . .

but I already have one. The green one with nifty case.

but i don't know if I'm really using it correctly . . .

Joan 04-05-2008 08:26 PM

Michaels has them 50% off this week, at least here in Canada anyway. However, that comes with nothing other than the Crop-A-Dile, so I might check out Costco and if they have them I'll take mine back to Michaels since I haven't taken it out of the package yet.

ashleyprugh 04-05-2008 08:41 PM

i've had one since the fall. but yeah. it'd been sitting in a box since the day i bought it. haven't done much paper stuff lately, can you tell? but, i took it out when i was arranging my new craft room. so hopefully, it'll get some use. plus, with all the hybrid stuff coming out, i can see myself using it.
and mine is pink. i LOVE pink. see, if it came in purple, i'd have it in purple. but yeah. pink works too.

scrapperjade 04-05-2008 08:43 PM

I LOVE my Crop-a-Dile! I didn't get mine with any extras, but thats alright by me! It was a gift so I'm not complaining!

Shawna 04-05-2008 08:49 PM

I got mine @ Michael's with a 50% off coupon for like $14, I love it!!

Yup, they're on sale for 50% off in the States this coming week - 4/6-12. :) TONS of scrapbooking stuff on sale, I was there tonight and picked up something I've been wanting for a long time with my 50% off coupon- a Making Memories Embellishment Center- the guy was like WOW, you just saved $40. Um, yes I did. LOL Love my Crop-a-Dile too!

Time for my organization to head to the walls! I have the little carousel too- best thing ever!! Thank goodness for those 50% off coupons. LOL

ditzyscrap 04-05-2008 10:33 PM

Um, nice! Do the embellishments come in it?

ColleenSwerb 04-05-2008 10:41 PM

Does Michael's have the Cheetah? Cuz I really need that thing. I need to go to Michael's tomorrow actually.

OMGosh, do I WISH! :) Although that would still leave me with the dilemma of where to put all my current crap, I mean...crafts. LOL

I want both of those!! Those are so cool!

Col yes Micheal's should have the Cheetah's and the refills! I got mine at Walmart but they no longer sell them so I get the refills at Michael's now.

Aggie Aviso 04-05-2008 10:49 PM

Oh wow T, those are so nice, made me want to get one -though I dont have embellies to store with it! HAHAHA!

meganmecrazy 04-05-2008 11:03 PM

I actually bought that set at CostCo a long time ago but haven't touched it yet. I'm haven't been ready to make anything yet, but there will come a day! :) I'm excited to try it out!

ColleenSwerb 04-05-2008 11:09 PM

I love having my stuff on the wall T. I got 2 metal and glass shelving sets at BJ's like a year or so ago. I have all my primas, and all my cricut cartridges on them, and there are hooks that I hang altered stuff and ribbons on. It's awesome.

That settles it, I'm totally buying the cheetah tomorrow. I've been asked to make invites for a friends bridal shower, and I need to go and look at the Martha Stewart lines to try and coordinate them with the favors. I love when I can combine stuf flike that, lol. I totally win.

meems 04-05-2008 11:10 PM

ooh, that Embellishment Center looks nice! But I don't think I'm ready for that yet . . .

what to buy with my Michael's coupon . . . hmm . .

Okay, I'll be the one to ask... What the heck is a cheetah?? :)

(I just googled it and got a page full of animals!)

*ETA - nm - I just found it's a Xyron adhesive thingy...

ColleenSwerb 04-05-2008 11:20 PM

It's a wide tape runner, essentially.

Cheetah

joelsgirl 04-05-2008 11:49 PM

ok, someone show me something you've actually MADE and used your crop o dile on.

kresta 04-05-2008 11:50 PM

Kellie - I use my crop-a-dile (also the pink one w/out the eyelets) to punch holes in CDs for the ring thingy when I make CD albums.

ditzyscrap 04-05-2008 11:54 PM

Kellie, I use it on pretty much every project I've done where I need to punch holes, lol (if you look at the pics in the instructions in any of my workshops, you'll see my pink handled crop-a-dile in there, lol).

I've also used it to make more holes in belts which have become too big. LOL!

ColleenSwerb 04-05-2008 11:55 PM

I love punching holes for ribbons in chipboard. And I made a bunch of friends some birthday calendar albums, and I glued 2 photos (the calendar pieces) to cardstock and it cut through no problem.

WEll now.... aren't you smart, lol! I should do that!

mrs_jb 04-06-2008 12:19 AM

Oh I love the idea of using my cropodile on belts! I would have never though of that either! Great for the kids too, so I can pass them down from one to the other faster, LOL!

I just picked up a Cheetah today! I was using a smaller Xyron and it was going through cartridges like mad!

Melissa Bennett 04-06-2008 12:28 AM

I have that on my list to get this next week. Hubby will be gone for 3 weeks and I can shop guilt free!! Woo hoo!!!

Joan 04-08-2008 12:20 AM

Just got back from Costco here and no sign of Crop-A-Diles. :( Oh well, I still got mine for 50% off, so I can't really complain. The extra goodies would have been nice, but not the biggest deal.

crecia27 04-08-2008 11:02 AM

wow - I'm here a week and already yall are a bad influence :p I got it at Costco online for 25.40 including taxes and shipping! NOW I need to go shopping to get some hybrid projects to use it on LOL

tuneskids 04-08-2008 11:23 AM

gee, no luck for me - I would have to renew my Costco membership first, never mind the 2 hour drive to get there. Same with Michael's, it's in the same town. lol
Somehow I don't think hubby will let me drive two hours to get a Crop-A-Dile. lol

BrattyMeg 04-08-2008 11:28 AM

I got a Crop O Dile and a Cheetah at Michaels along with oh 10 rolls of ribbon for like 25 bucks..not too bad IMO since the Crop o dile is that itself lol. They have some solid ribbon 6/$1 so I snagged a bunch of it :)

You have to use the 40% off Michael's coupon for the Cheetah it's not on sale but it only ended up being 7.79 after the coupon and the Crop o dile was 13.99

Heather Roselli 04-08-2008 11:34 AM

I ordered my Crop a Dile from JoAnns online a couple of weeks ago when they had a promo on it. It arrived, but I haven't opened it or used it yet. I also got the Cheetah tape runner to try out in lieu of Mod Podge. I'll be using it all on a few albums probably tomorrow!!! :)

ColleenSwerb 04-08-2008 11:42 AM

I was so mad when I went to Michael's on sunday, cuz I forgot my coupon! And they no longer carry the circular in stores because people who check out 15 times using the circular coupon, lol.

BrattyMeg 04-08-2008 11:46 AM

ours had them in the store...I didn't have an ad at home. I used the 40% coupon from the ad I picked up on the way in the door lol

Oh sure, rub it in! LOL!

I bought a bunch of stuff and it was almost all on sale. I read Stacy Julien's "Big Picture Scrapbooking" and "Photo Freedom" so I bought stuff to reorganize into that system. So I can't complain too much. I need to resign up for their circular. I don't usually get it now for some reason.

Shawna 04-08-2008 12:19 PM

Our Michael's doesn't have the sales flyers in store either. And I didn't think they mailed out their flyers either, I always get them in my Sunday paper. I may have to check into that cause it would be great if they do! That's a good price on ribbon so I may have to go check that out! I'm trying to build up my ribbon stash for hybrid projects!

Oh, that sucks! It really stinks that some stores won't do the coupon for you.

Which reminds me, I almost forgot... ours had stacks of leaflets with a 50% off coupon at the register that will be valid from April 12 - April 18, so look for that one in flyers, mailers, at your Michaels or wherever!

meems 04-08-2008 04:26 PM

i got a 50% off coupon in the mail from Michael's. i must use it this week.

MikkelPaige 04-08-2008 04:48 PM

Actually Col, there's a huge sale at Michael's this week - 60% off! I think it's 60% off the crop-o-dile too.

HOWEVER...if you want to buy a crop-o-dile I'd wait until the Crop-O-Dile BIG BITE reaches Joann's and/or Michael's! It reaches 6" into the page whereas the first version only reaches in about an inch! It retails for $39.99.

I'm having patience until it reaches the stores so I can use a coupon. I heard Hobby Lobby has them already but there isn't one close to me.

Wait! What? There's a new & improved version coming?! Dangit, maybe I should take mine back since I still haven't opened it. Do you know how long it'll be before this other version comes out, Mikkel?

I think Col actually has the Crop-A-Dile already, but she was annoyed she forgot her coupon for some other purchase.
