Mommy hood

Is it selfish to have mommy feelings hurt over something so trivial as a child who chooses not to participate in an extra credit writing assignment entitled "Why my mom should be mother of the year"? I mean I know I'm not that.... But close ;)

It is SOOO stupid when I say it out loud. But I was going through all her weekly papers and saw this blank page and said "this is for you." And she said "nah, it's extra credit" and balled it up and threw it away! She didn't even recycle it! (Insert joke here)

I am not even that upset, I guess I was just surprised it was so emotionless. Guess I better start feeding my son chocolate for ever meal before he gets to 4th grade! HAHA

No, I totally get that. It makes sense, but for the other side she probably didn't need the extra credit and didn't think of it in any way other than, I don't need extra credit.

I agree with Mari. I'm sure it had nothing at all to do with her feelings for you and everything to do with voluntarily taking on more schoolwork. If it makes you feel better, my 4th grader would have done exactly the same thing (though he would have recycled, LOL)!

Yeah and I get it, I'm not upset she's 10. Kids don't get that type of thing. I was just caught off guard.... And venting.
