i hate photoshop sometimes. like, hate it with a passion.
i was working on a layout (that was one of my favorites so far). and i went to save the layout before i did the journaling. cause that's what i do.
and it crashed. i lost the layout. LOST. GONE. KAPUT. POOF.
-grumbles-
now, i don't know whether to make a complete duplicate of the layout. cause i remember what i was doing. but i don't know whether to just redo things and change it all. i'm just so aggravated. TWO HOURS of work. and poof. it's gone.
anyone else hate it when this happens?
and should i just start over? or forget it and do something else?

Yes, I totally know what you're talking about, except my lovely (ha!) computer blue screens. I've googled the stop code and it has something to do with a bug in the code for one of the USB drivers. OK, whatever, like I know how to fix that. DH is a computer guy and he can't figure it out. I'll be damned if I take it to Best Buy. So for now, I just constantly save so that the BSOD doesn't eat another LO.

Yep I have had that happen a few times, the other day I was working on some QP's and out electricity went out and I lost what I was working on!! I about cried. LOL!!

i'm just glad my computer didn't go poof. it's done that before.
and i HATE the blue screen thing, rochelle. the desktop does that.

That is annoying. I had a LO done last week and went to do the journaling and lost it all. Just makes you want to scream!

for some reason my PS will crash every so often. i now practically save everytime i do something

Ugh...that is awful!! I know exactly how you feel. I was fortunate that I had gone a REALLY long time with this never happening and then 3 times in one week I completely lost 3 different LO's the same way you did. My PS just froze up and then they were all gone. :( I'm so sorry that happened. What I would do is start to try and put the LO back together the way you were doing it and you might find that you either get some new brilliant idea's or you may just switch things up a bit, or maybe not fix it all. But I really think you should start to put it back together the way it was. :) That's just my opinion. :)

I had that happen just last week. I wanted to scream! Lol!

If I really love the LO, I'll go back and start over and recreate it. If it's one I've been struggling with, I'll work on something else and come back to it.

that is SO frustrating! PSP has an autosave feature, I've always been amazed that PS(e) does not. Good luck recreating it - I'd definately duplicate it if you can!

That is totally worst fear and I am so bad about not saving until the very end. I need to get better about it!

Sorry that happened to you!

Can I just ask, is there a reason so many of you don't save as you go? It seems like there's been a lot of posts like this lately and I just don't get it. My dad is a computer engineer and he always told me that you should never go longer without saving than you care to lose. I can't even imagine waiting until a layout was finished to save. Seriously, Ctrl+S is your friend!

I always know I should save, I just always forget until the end. I need to make a new ctrl+s habit. :)

I know lynnette, it's an awful habit. I don't do it with work stuff (I save that all the time), so I don't know why I wait with PS. Although last week when it happened, the LO came together so fast (which is NOT common for me) that I got all excited, and then when I went to save it froze, lol.

Oh I totally feel your pain. I get sooooo aggravated when that happens that I usually just have to walk away for a while and later I'll go back and make the layout. Sorry that happened to you, I know how frustrating that can be. I always try to remember to save often. I've had my PSE just shut down completely, the whole window just goes poof.

I know you would think I would have learned the first time it happened to me. LOL So after 3 times in one week I broke my bad habit in a hurray. Now I make sure to hit the save button several times through out doing a LO. Lesson Learned the hard way. :p

This totally happened to me last night!!! But my whole computer just clicked off! Seriously everything just went black. The computer would not come back on for about 5 min! I was lamost done with the cutest LO!!! I was using ScrapKitchens Flower Stand and I was loving every inch of the 2pg LO!!! I was screaming mad!!! I wanted to cry and throw the whole laptop off a cliff!!

I guess I need to learn to save more!

I had this happen just last week, but it was with a really complicated paper I was creating! I was so steamed! I usually save as I go, but I was so involved and concentrating on what I was doing I just forgot on that one I guess!

Ackkk, I hate that! It did the same thing to me about a week ago. I have now started saving every few moves/elements, just in case!

I hope you can recreate it!

exactly my thing. but now, i've started to save. cause it happened again. but i did remember to save it as i went this time. thanks for the reminder, though.
i finished my layout. not loving it as much as the first one, but it works for me.
i'm just happy to be FINISHED with the layout.
