Set Rant {ON}

:cursing:

I used the Maya Road Arrow template from their site instead of making my own (first big mistake!). After making all the pages for my arrow book, I printed everything out...3 pages worth (2nd Big Mistake!). After carefully cutting out all the pages, I go to adhere them to the chipboard...AND THEY DON'T FIT!!!!!!! :cursing:

The moral of the story is...don't print all your pages without checking the fit.

Back to the drawing board.

oh that stinks :( but - thanks for the tip - i'll be sure to do that if i ever get my bootie in gear and finish a hybrid album !!

Julie Billingsley 04-20-2008 09:24 PM

Aww... that is horrible! :( Susan has templates available here and they are just perfect for the projects. Hope you end up with a fabulous project!

Shawna 04-20-2008 09:25 PM

Oh no that sucks Melissa! I would definitely email them and let them know so they can fix it so other unknowing people don't have the same problem! Hope you get it figured out!

Becca Bonneville 04-20-2008 09:31 PM

Aww I am so sorry! I know that is very aggravating! I agree that I would let them know!

newfiemountiewife 04-20-2008 09:32 PM

That sucks!!! I'd be emailing to complain for sure! I'm sorry that happened :(

Dottie 04-20-2008 09:36 PM

That's terrible! I'm in the middle of doing a hybrid album, but created my own template.

I agree, I would definitely let them know.

wildblueeyez 04-20-2008 09:36 PM

Oh heck yeah, I'd be sending off an email!!!

but on another note, I always print one of whatever I am working on in grayscale to test for fit without wasting ink.

Let us know what they say!!!

Susan Bartolini 04-20-2008 09:47 PM

Just wanted to let you know that Maya Road sells several different sizes in the Arrow Album. Ours is the arrow mini. I am sure their template is correct, but it just isn't the correct template for the arrow mini.

Susan

crecia27 04-20-2008 09:48 PM

OH NO!! Nothing much worse than doing all that work for nothing!! Looking forward to seeing it though!

 great idea!

MelissaL88 04-20-2008 10:10 PM

Thanks for the sympathy girls! It sure makes me feel better! But, Susan was right about the different sizes. I went back and looked at what I downloaded and it's for the Coaster Album, not the Mini Album. So that explains why my template doesn't fit. ARGH! And here I thought I was being so clever

On a side note, I have one of the Mini Quick Pages, so I used that as a template and it worked like a champ! (thanks, Heather!).

So 2nd lesson learned tonight - Read the instructions thoroughly before attempting to do yourself!

And I think I will be purchasing some of Susan's templates to avoid frustration in the future :)

Julie Billingsley 04-20-2008 10:15 PM

And Maya Road has different sizes for hearts, birds, etc... I think they almost try to make it confusing! :P

mrs_jb 04-20-2008 10:15 PM

Oh that sucks!!!

Priscilla 04-20-2008 10:19 PM

total bummer!! sorry about aht

~toby~ 04-20-2008 10:44 PM

Thank you for the heads up. I printed all the different albums out...I just haven't had a chance to play with them yet. Now I know better.

Heather Roselli 04-20-2008 11:55 PM

Melissa, I'm sorry that happened to you! I did try to warn people about their album templates not being correct right after we began selling them but there is no way to reach everyone! The Tag shape on that same page as the arrow isn't right either! I guess we are all learning the hard way to print one sample page first! LOL

kscwgirl 04-21-2008 12:18 AM

Awww hugs Melissa.. that sucks. :(

meems 04-21-2008 12:21 AM

ugh, sorry that happened. but at least we can all learn from your experience.

scrappychic 04-21-2008 12:25 AM

Oh man, that sucks! Reminds me of my paper scrapping days - nothing more frustrating than that, well, running out of adhesive comes pretty close! Hope the 2nd time's a charm, can't wait to see your album.

I didn't realize that .... I bought my layered/waterfall album at my LSS not at SSD and it is the 4x12, not the 3x8 that SSD sells. So I made my pages for Dani's layered album, printed, cut them ... then realized they were too small for the album from my LSS  Which reminds me ... I need to buy some of the layered ones from SSD to finish my project.

Amy Carey 04-21-2008 06:08 AM

could you go back and buy the correct size album for the pages you already printed and give it as a gift or another use so it wouldn't totally be a waste?
