#5 Tutorial challenge: shaped text - Cindy's templates have lots of those shaped text included in them. Instead of doing it myself, it makes my scrapping so much easier to use her templates.

#16 - Photo challenge sepia - I chose this one because it's outside my comfort zone. I rarely think to use sepia toned photo as I tend to equate it with vintage or old fashioned which isn't how I typically scrap. However, I rolled with it and I love the mood it lends to my layout.

#5 - Tutorial challenge: shaped text
When Laura posted a scrappy prompt in the forum to use circles on a layout I decided I wanted to go all out and even do my journaling and titlework within a circle as well. I love when I can make my journaling such an integral part of the design of my page because it's a part that's really meaningful and important to me.

12 - scrap a pocket page... pocket pages don't come easy to me. If I don't have a template to follow, with all the creative paper piecing in each area, I struggle. So, this was a challenge for me! :w00t:

#10 - Document a Milestone

My littlest little guy recently turned 8 months but I just scrapped this 6 month photos <3 Why do they have to get big so fast!! I love his little grin and everything about him!

#2 - Color Challenge: Orange

It's funny because I love a lot of different colors, but for some reason... I've always disliked orange!! So when I saw this challenge, I thought it was a good one for me to try :) Luckily, Wendy created this great kit just in time and I love this layout.

#16 - Photography Challenge: Sepia
I used to love to print my photos out in Sepia. I always loved the effect it had of aging them and giving them a little bit of a vintage feel. This photo is from our engagement shoot and I think the sepia effect was exactly what I needed to take this little trip down memory lane with my journaling.

Take a Stand. You could scrap about:
- your political stance
- a time you stood up to someone or for someone
- a cause you champion/support
- the rules in your house (e.g. no more leaving the dishes in the sink. Everyone has to do their share or mama is going on strike)
- your kid doing handstands
- advice to your younger self about standing firm in your values/beliefs etc

Outdated Technology. You could scrap about:
- things that kids today will never experience (rotary telephones, Atari computers, no cell phone, etc)
- the fact that you haven't updated your cell phone in 5 years
- that was then/this is now.Compare what technology you currently have in your life, with what you or your parents grew up with

#19 - flashback: outdated technology.
Well, my husband and I love keeping some old things and those were our mobile phones back in the day...Even though we didn't know each other in 2003, the mobile phones were so pricey we obviously decided to keep them haha
Maybe I should've taken his photo(s) with his phone but since he's always at work, I decided to do it myself :)

#18: Take a Stand:

The journaling is pretty small but it basically says that
after a year and a half of dealing with lost paperwork and being pushed aside, my daughter was finally given the chance to test for giftedness. She passed and is now getting specialized classes she needs to continue to stimulate her emotional and intellectual development. I used this for the Take a Stand prompt b/c I'm very non-confrontational but I had to make a ton of calls, letters and even go pretty "high up the ladder" to get this ball rolling but I did and I'm proud of myself for that. And of my sweet, smart daughter! :)

#15: Cards or Letters. My last one for a blackout. I avoided this one til the very end. I lost my grandma 2 weeks ago tomorrow. And so this was a "goodbye letter" of sorts to her. I bawled my eyes out scrapping this but it was therapeutic too and I know I'll appreciate having this page in the future too!
