How many times today ....

Have you told your family:

Yes, Digital Scrapbooking Day IS a real holiday!

lol! My family thinks this is every weekend ...

That's it, time for them to fend for themselves (except we're at my inlaws for (Canadian) Thanksgiving this weekend, so hubby's mom will take care of them!)

KristinCB 10-07-2023 11:50 AM

my family usually just says "didn't you just have that weekend?" no! that was not the same event! haha

digital scrapbooking day is special because it's the one justtttt for us digi scrappers :D

happy thanksgiving! we're not going to my parents until monday so right now I don't have to feel guilty about splitting my time between things LOL

SweetChar 10-07-2023 11:54 AM

Ha! :D

I just read these posts to Rich and Nathan. I had to read it out loud twice, though, 'cause I was laughing and they couldn't understand me. :D

Robin Carlton 10-07-2023 12:18 PM

Not once. Since I've been doing this sooo long... literally everyone in the fam knows when I'm working on a big event and they even know all the different acronyms for the different events throughout the year :D

I told hubby it felt like winning the lottery, getting to be a SugarBabe so close to DSD and he looked at me like I had 2 heads. He said “sugar-what-now”???. He clearly doesn’t listen to me as I’ve been telling him for years about everything going on at SSD and with my digital scrapbooking in general for the last 18 years and he retains nothing. Yet he could tell you who won the Stanley cup in 1975, before he was born :D

We had planned to leave Thursday night to get some of the drive down but then ended up having to wait because we brought our friend’s son up with us and he couldn’t go til Friday (he’s at Red Deer College but they live here in Peace River). Turkey Monday and we go home Monday - too long of a drive! (Takes us 8 hours)

:D I can relate! I've stopped trying to explain and just revert to it's a scrapbooking thing. Or for DSD/iNSD I just say it's where I get my biggest sales of the year... at least THAT he can understand!

SweetChar 10-07-2023 12:34 PM

They keep making little jokey comments to me:

Scrap til you drop
Scrap Nation
Just keep scrappin, just keep scrappin, just keep scrappin...
When does a Naval ship become like your Mother?... When it's scrapped.

:D

I feel like our hubby's are long lost brothers! :D My son did ask if I was able to step away to come to his hockey game today & I said of course- but that's the ONLY non scrapping thing on my to-do list today! Everyone else has to do meals & chores! :p

Ponytails 10-07-2023 12:42 PM

That's hilarious Char!!!

My husband mentioned an errand with taking the dog in the car. And going in a different direction (without the dog) for late lunch/early supper and a stroll through Hobby Lobby.

I said, "Oh. I didn't picture leaving the house TWICE today." lol Doggy might not get an excursion today.

My hubby keeps trying to talk to me while I'm reading the forum here, and then acts surprised when I don't answer. "Aren't you listening?" he says, and I'm like... no, I'm reading the scrapbook stuff! :D

In his defense though, it's our 15th anniversary today and he bought me flowers and chocolate. I forgot. Oops! :o

You have the busiest #irl! How do you also have time to scrap so so much?

3BluEyedBabi 10-07-2023 02:00 PM

My husband is helping out at Mack Truck Days with Little League today. I think they are selling food from a food truck. My 16-year-old son who is the captain of his cross-country team has to be at a Chicken BBQ fundraiser helping out all day. And my 13-year-old son was supposed to have a baseball game but it's been canceled because of rain. So luckily, I have nothing else to do today but scrap and play games and no one is even here to bother me! However, this crappy weather has really given me a sinus headache.

allyanne 10-07-2023 02:22 PM

OOh, sounds like a perfect scrapping day, Lynn! I'm sorry about your sinus headache, though. I hope you feel better soon!

I am always sitting here scrapping anyway, so nobody bats an eye on these big weekends. My honey is super supportive of my hobbies and loves my pages and photo books. My son, on the other hand, thinks I'm the lamest of the lame.

I always remind them weeks before but I know they don't really understand what I do... They mix all the acronym so today I was busy with LSD....
Well they know I want to be quiet this weekend but unfortunately there's still lot of chores to do and of course my kids needs me lol.

At least 5 times I have told my sweet husband to entertain himself today! It's my holiday!

That's lucky that no one is around to interrupt you, but boo for the sinus headache - I get bad ones too, I hope the pain goes away soon!

Thankfully, Saturdays are pizza day for dinner, so that's taken care of. Everyone has pretty much left me alone most of the day, but I've been warning them for the past 2 weeks, so there's that. lol
