Like anything else, there was a lot to learn at first but it was great. There's something very empowering about breaking boards and being able to throw a large man off of you after you're already on the ground and he has you straddled. We studied Tang Soo Do (Korean martial art similar to Tae Kwon Do but we don't use any weapons until we reach senior rank). I got stronger, more confident, flexible and other little things that hadn't occured to me like improved balance. We are 4 belts away from Black belt and hope to get back to it as soon as we can get it back into the budget. I don't even need to tell you how much my son loved it too.
This is exactly what I've been feeling! The form I'm looking at is "Kuk Sool Won" which is a Korean form. It's a comprehensive martial arts with almost everything: forms, self defense, sparing, weapons, etc... I've always been the kind of person who hides in the background. The confidence & strength I would love to develop!
