i was with a bank for a long time and they started to charge fees a couple of years ago. I had to switch to a certain type of account to get free banking and had to have a minimum in the account, then after a year they decided that wasn't good enough so to get free accounts I had to have money withdrawn from my checking and put into my savings monthly to have a free account. Then I got another notice that wasn't good enough anymore, that I was going to have to do yet another thing to get free checking. So I said forget it, and withdrew all my money and took it to a credit union. I've been with the CU for 4 months now and have never been happier with a banking institution.
