I do it before I bake it. Instead of a 9x12 baking dish, I use the 8x8. When it was just hubby & me, I would divide it into 4 bread pans. I usually add a bit more chicken, or other ingredients because it isn't even - 9x12 to 8x8, but even if you don't add anything, it still works.
