I don't know if a balloon garland would work for your life but they don't take long to assemble and hang, have a big visual impact, and the bat one I shared above was $3 at Target! (I did buy an electric balloon pump a few years back to inflate them because my arms wanted to fall off using my Dollar Tree manual pump.)
