Happy Tuesday Sweet Shoppers! I'm super excited to be kicking off our month of Scrap with the SugarBabes challenges with a personal fave of mine, a "Pop Rocks" challenge!

This classic standalone challenge took inspiration from pop culture to create one of a kind pages that had a nod to all of the characters, books, TV, movies, music and more that we consume and enjoy every single day!

To this day we see tons of products and challenges inspired by pop culture even if we don't use the Pop Rocks / Pop Weekly title. I absolutely adore pop culture, so while I'm not a Babe, it seemed fitting for me to host this one and kick off this month's challenge adventure. Let's get into it...

For today's challenge, choose one of your favorite characters from the past and create a page that's inspired by those motifs. Keep in mind that I'm not asking you to scrap a page about that character(s), but rather a page that's inspired by the color palettes, icons, catch phrases, and fun of those characters and shows we have nostalgia for.

Here are some of my favorite and most loved characters from the past, and whether you scrap a page about having a "yabba dabba doo" good time, your Sanrio stationary collection, a "Rainbow Brite" color palette or the icons and emotions that show you care-a-lot, I hope you'll embrace this challenge and create a little pop culture magic with the Babes and I today!

Aww, Love this! I'm an 80s baby and loved Rainbow Bright, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, and My Little Pony.

Inspired by Care Bears

Happy Tuesday Robin! what a cute challenge :) I was inspired by Care Bears' palette, hearts, stars, (and I included a bear  in page too), my take for today's challenge.

I was inspired by the muppets: the bright colour palette and there's always a clown in every bunch.

Thank you, Robin, for such a fun challenge! I will add my layout here once I get it finished! :)
I picked Strawberry Shortcake. I went with the color palette and with the strawberry theme to match our granddaughter's cute outfit.

Such a fun challenge!:)

I loved Little Ponies when I was little. It was a magical, colorful world with lots of rainbows. That's what I remember most! lol!
I was inspired by the vintage colors of the rainbow, the magical universe and ponies but these are unicorns for a wink.

I was inspired by Strawberry Shortcake, the way she stands on that
picture with her sweet little dress and I knew I had a picture of me
wearing a red dress

It took me a little while to decide on what I wanted to do. Eventually, I embraced my very 90s Nickelodeon childhood and went with Rugrats

I had so much trouble narrowing this down, so many choices!

In the end I went with Inspiration being a cult UK children's tv show from the 1970's and 80's.

Obviously inspired by the character from the show Zippy, with the zipper template and orange background, then I used quite a few sticker style elements to represent the black/white illustration style of the intro to the show, title comes from the theme tune with the jingle "paint the whole world with a rainbow". The patterned papers, alpha and additional font used in the title also have that retro 70's vibe (which is when I would have watched this as a child).

My page

Are you allowed to choose another tv show from the 80s era, like Fraggle Rock? :D

So sorry I missed this! You can absolutely choose to be inspired by a show like Fraggle Rock or any other show you have nostalgia for <3 Everything in my post is just an example of some of those 80's shows and characters I have that kind of childhood love for.
