I maintain a fairly large stockpile in pantry items and frozen food, mainly for the cost effectiveness of buying in bulk, and because cooking is one of my main hobbies and I like to have a variety of stuff on hand (kind of like a scrapping stash
) so if I am feeling inspired, I can "create" w/o a huge trip to the grocery store. But it has definitely come in handy the few times that we have been snowed in, or on weeks where the car needs repair and we can't grocery shop.
