Thanks everyone! My mood has definitely improved from this morning.
As far as the EHD goes, thanks for the advice...I'll try unplugging it for awhile. I've tried it on both computers and got the same error message on both...but it can't hurt to try again! I do need to get on the manufacturers website and see if there's something there that will help...as soon as Miss Rachel goes to bed I'll get to work on that.
