ouch! poor thing!
The blood in the eyes happens all the time when babies birth because of the trauma of passing through the birth canal (I'm a doula). It is just a tiny blood vessel that bursts, but it takes a couple of weeks to go away. It should be the same way with any other trauma, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.
