If you have a lot of laminate flooring - which is what we started off with when we first moved in to our house - I would highly recommend purchasing a
Hoover Floormate (I think they still make them!). It vacuums and then wet scrubs/sucks up dirty water. Uses a special cleaner, but we loved ours.
However, if you have 2 labs - or some other hairy creatures in your home - you would definitely want to use a real vacuum or sweep first because we ruined ours with icky dog hair that it couldn't keep up with (even though we thought we were doing as I mentioned and cleaning it all up first).
