I can't explain why yours worked if its the same account, but when your credit card is 'declined' you should always call the company right away. A lot of times its not being declined, but asking the merchant to call and verify that it is the cardholder there using it, but merchants don't often know what it means and just say, oh, its declined.
I don't use BoA, we don't have them here.
