Charlotte Mason turned out not to be for us, but it's the style we started with, and I still use some of the components from the theory. We have switched to a more classical approach (using The Well Trained Mind and Teaching the Trivium as models).
It's definitely a gentle approach to learning. I think Emmy leans toward it in her homeschooling model...balancing it with Classical.
