Default Do any of you buy your kids Halloween candy back on Halloween night?

I don't remember where I got the idea, but I started this a couple of years ago. On Halloween night, after trick-or-treating and when my kids are sitting on the floor with their stash dumped out in front of them, they have the option to "sell" me some candy. They are welcome to keep it all, get rid of a few pieces, or make some serious cash, lol They get .25 per piece. (I know I probably should have started them at .10 per piece, but too late now..I can't go backwards on them now).

Last year, my (then) 10 year-old dd parted with 2/3 of her pile and made $30! My (then) 8 year-old decided to keep every last piece of hers, lol

It's totally up to them. I will admit that I'm more than happy to "buy" the candy (which then goes to our Senior Citizen's center)...the less sugar in their diet, the better.

It's a win-win for all!
