my in laws have lived there most of their life and we visit often and I absolutely love it there....but of coarse I spent 20 years in the Navy and settled in WA so I don't think it is much different. I think the summers are better in OR than WA and there is lots of green trees and fresh air...you can camp or ski or hike or do just about anything outdoorsy.... I also think it depends on what your level of income is and where you might be living
