I think it's funny that the perception of Portland is "weird", and that shows just puts it out there more. Portland definitely has weird people (and I love that!), but there are plenty of perfectly normal families and suburban neighborhoods just like anywhere else.
Portland is a liberal city, a green city, and a wonderful place to live. I don't like the grey days either, but there is plenty of sun too.
