I totally agree with Sara about the difference between the planned and unplanned C-section. During the unplanned C-section, the doctors and nurses were moving so quickly, that I think it heightened my alarm - but my son's heart rate was dropping, so they were doing what was necessary. Just wanted to throw that out there too - so if everyone starts moving quickly to do a C-section, try to stay as calm as you can and remember that they are used to this and know what they are doing.

Also, one thing that I think you will probably find different if you have to have a C-section is your milk supply. With both of my boys, my milk did not come in until about day 4 or 5. So just keep that in mind. The actual recovery from the C-sections was not bad. Like others have said, try to get moving as soon as they will let you. Moving around is what helps you build your strength again.
