I use Shutterfly exclusively. I print my personal albums at 10x10. My first book I printed through Persnickety way back when at 12x12 and found that was too big for my liking.
I use layflat pages and like someone mentioned, I apply full page photos throughout the book first so I don't waste time.
I print 8x8 through Shutterfly for grandparents and gifts for friends.
I also wait for the unlimited pages sale and usually print 100 page books.
