Oh a volcano kit would be awesome. My son is super interrested in them, he's only 5 though, but volcanoes are still a big thing these days.
We went to Tenerife for our honeymoon and visited Teide the volcano there. There weren't much vegetation when we were there, but they have a website which explains and shows pictures of the vegetation that blooms in spring and a bit about the area. Perhaps Amber or any other designer who wants to try for a kit can find information there:
