I called my grandparents Mamaw & Papaw (mother's side) and Granny & Pa (dad's side).
When my daughter became pregnant I wanted Mamaw but my son-in-laws mother already had grandkids and was called Mamaw so not to confuse I am Grandma.
My husband kept saying he wanted to be called Elder Dad but that went away when little one (Abby) was born and he said "I am your Grandpa".
My mother-in-law was GG to her great grandkids (Great Grandma).
