I generally do the name brand stuff because like everyone else mentioned, the colors are more true and more vibrant on the crayons and because at back to school time, the stuff is cheap!
Dh also hits the clearance aisles at Wal-Mart after back to school time is over and stocks up on extra boxes of crayons, gluesticks, markers, folders, pencils, etc., so that as the kids need new stuff through the year, we can just grab it from our stash.
