This sounds totally fine! If it's a gift for a friend or family member, and is sent finished / printed / flattened, etc. that is a TOTALLY acceptable use of your supplies. Permission is only needed for commercial use / for profit and larger scale ventures.
It should be noted that even though they aren't "for profit", freebies or RAKs distributed online such as quick pages or other downloads are NOT OK!
That doesn't sound like what you have in mind though, so you should be good to go!
