Sweet Shoppers, we've been teasing our August challenge event for a couple of weeks now, and I am super excited to finally share the details on our whimsical and sweet Scrap It! Summer: Shadowbox challenges! That's right... if any of you were around in 2014 when we first did this event, you'll know it was one of the most fun summer contests we've ever done, so we decided to bring it back to keep the fun going for our 2021 Scrap It! Summer.
Are you ready for a month of fast paced challenges that will earn you daily freebies, a 50% discount in the shoppe, plus the chance to win your ultimate Sweet Shoppe wishlist? What about joining our team of SugarBabes? All of that is on the line this month, so read on for all of the details on this month's fun and games!
Have you ever filled a shadowbox with knick-knacks, trinkets and mementos to create a keepsake of your favorite things? We loved the idea of doing a virtual keepsake created with Sweet Shoppe goodies and finding simple challenge inspiration from each little box in the project. The Sweet Shoppe Designers have created an insanely awesome assortment of coordinating freebies for this event, and you'll be able to earn all of them by completing the challenge of the day. Here's just a tiny sneak peek at a few of the treats you'll earn when you play along in this special event...
We know that not every challenge is for every person, so each day you'll be able to choose between two challenges inspired by the keepsake box of the day. Complete the challenge within 48 hours of it being posted, share it in the daily challenge thread here in the forums and you'll receive access to the download for that day's freebie!
Like last month, our Scrap It! Summer: Shadowbox event is replacing our Passport challenges for August, so playing along this month will earn you Sweet Rewards!

Those of you who are able to complete all 31 days of challenges by September 2nd at 11:59pm EST will be entered into a drawing to win your Ultimate Sweet Shoppe Wishlist! Simply grab a spot in this thread to keep track of your layouts throughout the month,
create your wish list in our special thread, and once you've completed all 31 challenges, you'll be entered to win! Easy peasy!
But that's not all... if you're interested in putting it all on the line to strut your stuff for the chance at a spot on our team, we'll also be looking to choose a new SugarBabe or two from everyone who is able to complete all 31 days of challenges in August! Don't forget,
you MUST opt-in to be considered for a spot on our team, and you can do that by sporting our fancy frame throughout this month's event!
The rules are simple...
You must use exclusively Sweet Shoppe products from current designers to complete your pages.- You must complete your challenge within 48 hours of it being posted to earn the daily freebie.
- You must share a 700x700px image of your layout in the daily challenge thread to get credit for completing the challenge.
- You must have ALL layouts completed by Thursday, Sept 2 at 11:59pm EST to enter to win our grand prize, be considered for a spot on our team, and earn your Sweet Rewards which will be valid 9/13 - 9/17.
Our Designers & Babes have been working hard on this event all month, and we can't wait to bring the daily inspiration to life! I especially wanted to give a shout out to SugarBabe Loni, who despite so much going on in her personal life has poured her heart and soul into creating our shadowbox graphic and it is truly magical! I hope you guys are excited, and that we see lots of you jumping in and getting involved during this very special month long scrap-a-thon!
