It's been reported that it doesn't hit children as hard as older people, so hopefully they can recover quickly.
I still don't understand the panic. My mom was in a nursing home, got pneumonia, and died. I recently looked up how many deaths there are a year from pneumonia, and the CDC reported 50,000 deaths a year with over 250,000 seeking medical care at a hospital for it. I'm not sure why we aren't panicking about that. And about every other time the flu runs through town. Why is it so different this time?
