My house does not have any carpeting except in my oldest's bedroom in the basement. I'm assuming that when we finish the basement, we will carpet it as well. I don't have strong feelings either way about carpeting but since we are planning on getting a dog, I won't be carpeting any more of the house.
My parents (who would be considered Boomers) have always had wall-to-wall carpeting (a bathroom in an old house even had carpeting!) in all of their houses including their current one.
