We have carpet in the bedrooms and hallway. I do like having carpet underfoot in the bedroom. It feels cozier and it's definitely quieter. The rest of the house is wood or tile. The tiles floors all have in-floor radiant heat, so they feel wonderful underfoot (otherwise I hate tile.) There's an area rug under the couch and kitchen table. I could do away with that one, but hubby wants to keep it there. I must say, I like the ease of our wood floors. Between my roomba and my swiffer, they're super easy to keep clean.
