People have asked me about my laminate, commenting how it must be cold. It really isn't even with a basement underneath the whole house. When I thought about it, I realized that there is the sub-flooring then the hardwood from when the house was built. On top of the hardwood is another padding layer then the laminate. So essentially lots of insulation
The bathroom is another story since it has always been tile and only has the 2 layers. That can get chilly.
