Yeah, I think it's a PSE thing. I did a quick search and it seems in PS, it's replaced by the bridge. I would be nice to have a palette embedded in PS to view the elements without having to configure the program windows so they are visible at the same time.
I've been searching, but still haven't found a way to disable the embedded smart object feature.
