I don't have a recipe with measurements really but here is what I do:

I cook chopped onions and peppers (how much and colors are your choice) in a little olive oil. Then chop up some garlic cloves (2 or 3 - we like a lot).

After about 5 minutes add about a tablespoon of chili powder, about 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and 1 tablespoon of cocao powder. Stir for a minute and then dump in a 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes or tomato puree.

This is my base - from here you can add meat if you want or add beans of your choice (black or kidney are our faves). If you like more vegetables add different colored peppers, chopped tomatoes, etc.
