Yes, pretty much the only avenue we (libraries...I'm in my librarian mode right now LOL) have is Overdrive. Did you know it's tens of thousands of dollars for libraries to offer Overdrive? So if your library doesn't have it, it's probably due to the massive federal and state funds that we've had cut the last 2+ years. In my library system, we're really working our butts off to get Overdrive in 2012...we hope to make it happen. Between grants and our library foundation and some magic budgeting, we want to get this for our patrons, because we DO KNOW that it's what our patrons want. But being able to just say "Oh, you guys want this? OK!" is an impossibility.

And on a side note, with non-profits, like libraries, the crunch the economy is feeling has a very weird timeline. We don't start feeling the crunch until about 2 years later, and it takes us an extra 2+ years to recovery, because of budget processes.
