Growing up, my dad always made a big deal of Valentine's Day. We would always get heart shaped boxes of chocolate and flowers from him. We'd eat a special dinner as a family, or sometimes my parents would go out on a date. Imagine my surprise when I married an anti-Valentine'sDay-er! My husband doesn't buy into it... and although we've been married for 16 years I still haven't stopped expecting something from him. Anything... a card, a box of chocolates? Something. It doesn't have to be big. I wish I could stop caring, but it *feels* important to me because my entire childhood it was. Heck, even to this day my dad sends me flowers and a card. Poor hubby! He was probably never going to live up to dad's extreme v-day legacy.
