He has a UTI which likely caused the fever, and we have to follow up with a urologist for a possible urinary reflux issue that is fairly common, but can lead to kidney issues.

I'm sorry you've gone through this. I hope that the urologist finds that it's something very easily treated and will not lead to anything else.
