I don't get it either. When all this Twilight stuff started my sister who is not a reader called and said I HAD to read the books. I didn't even finished the last one I thought it was so ridiculous. And now you have a YA marked flooded with copycat vampire and werewolf stuff that isn't good.
If you want to read a GOOD well written story about vampires then read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. So much better.
