Totally the wood. I believe over the years, it would be something you'd treasure, and only ever buy/make once. I paid big money for my oversized cherry sleigh bed and I am SO glad I did. I love it and will have it forever.
The other is nice too, but seems to me that it might get boring, or I'd grow tired of it over time. Maybe not you, but thats just my thoughts. Have fun!!!
