Jessica, I'm so happy for you that your dh is back at home. What a blessing.

But wow, your poor son. First having to deal with the loss of his brother, and the near-death experience of his dad (not to mention your wacky unsupportive in-laws), and now to have to deal with bullies on top of it? Poor kid. He sounds like he needs a big hug and a strong advocate for him. Good for you for phoning the school straight away. Actually, I'm a little surprised the bus driver didn't handle it. Our kids have to sign a behaviour contract when riding the bus and it gives the bus driver significant lee-way in dealing with misbehaviour. No kid should have to deal with this under normal circumstances: the agony of deciding whether to tough it out or to tell an adult. But add to that all the stress he's been under, those other children should be ashamed of themselves.

Big hugs to you too Jessica. And bless you for being a strong protector of your child. Calling in an attorney if nothing is done is a great idea - is there legal aide available, or perhaps a lawyer friend or church member, so that you can explore this without incurring any costs?
