Not elementary, but middle and high school. In reality most are only social media friends at this point, but my best friend from high school and I talk on the phone (for hours and hours!) once a year. We always swear to be better about keeping in touch, but it hasn't happened yet. She lives 15 minutes from a school that my son was seriously considering so I thought maybe we'd start to see each other more, but in the end he decided on a different school. There's still a chance--the college he'll start in the fall is only 2.5 hours from her, so it's better than the 5 hours apart we are now.
