Absolutely have every computer nerd you know take a look at it. I don't know how many laptops and computers my husband has looked at over the years that he could fix when distributors said they couldn't do anything without it costing a bunch of money since warranty has run out.
It's good you have everything backed up though. If your Alienware laptop can't be fixed by your computer buds, you'll still have everything that's very important, which is the data.
If you need to purchase another device, do *NOT* buy another Alienware laptop or even desktop. Alienware originated as gaming systems. Dell bought them out and are peddling Alienware as top of the line gaming machines and they're not. You can build an amazing machine to scrap on and game on if that's your preference.
