My girls are tweens and I do NOT miss buying toys. If I ever feel the urge, I buy some and donate to charity as well. They started putting really expensive electronics on their wish lists a couple years ago, so we used their allowances to show them how much and how long they would need to save to buy ONE of those things. They stopped asking for them real quick once they realized that $800 for one ipad wasn't appropriate.
