I've always been a night owl so the movies starting late never bothered me. I've noticed I'm getting older though because the drive home after the movie is exhausting! We live a little over an hour away from the nearest drive-in theater and I can make it through both movies but that darn drive home...
The one we go to is popular with crowds going every weekend. People start lining up as early as 5pm when the gates don't open till 7:30 and the movie doesn't start until 9:00, so that might be why it seems like such a long evening.
