My husband is handy like this. His dad was a general contractor before he retired and my husband grew up working with him every summer. He does our wiring, plumbing, you name it. He can build or fix just about anything. We were quoted several hundred dollars to fix the tie rod ends on my van. He fixed them for $40. I swear, his abilities have saved our butts so many times. The first summer we lived here we were so broke (carrying two mortgages and I don't work during the summer, and we had just put a new roof on) and the AC went out. He found the issue and fixed it himself and it didn't cost a dime!
